“What kind of horrible nation would kill hundreds of thousands of innocent people?” American asks after visit to concentration camp
KRAKOW — After a trip to Auschwitz during his 3-week-long summer Eurotrip, 21-year-old American Nate Ross was upset by the actions of Hitler and Nazi Germany and couldn’t help but to update his Facebook status.
“Went to Auschwitz today. Disgusted. What kind of horrible nation would kill hundreds of thousands of innocent people?” he posted.
As he thought about it, Nate couldn’t wrap his mind around it. Why would a government already with so much power feel the need to wipe so many people from the face of the earth? Couldn’t political gains, and the end of a war, be brought about without such collateral damage? Nazi Germany was truly a uniquely terrible regime, he thought.
